Dr. Tanner is excited to finally be able to call Texas home. Dr. Tanner grew up in rural Idaho. His father was a school teacher and his mother was a piano teacher. Throughout his career he met many people with a great fear of seeing the dentist. These fears are deeply rooted in past negative experiences. Dr. Tanner is sympathetic to these fears and works tirelessly to earn the trust of every patient he works with. His genuinely friendly and compassionate approach to every dental procedure is clear in how he tailors treatment to the individual needs and desires of each patient. With the help of modern techniques as well as different levels of sedation he’s able to customize treatment to a variety of individual needs. His experience with implants, root canal therapy, oral surgery and extensive work with kids allows him to provide a broad scope of treatment to people of all ages. He strives to be a comprehensive dentist for all your dental needs while providing dentistry in a personalized, caring and comfortable manner.
Dr. Tanner received his doctorate of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. He spent 2 years as a Commissioned Officer with the United States Public Health Service. What can you find Dr. Tanner doing when he isn’t helping patients? Ever since he was a young boy, he could be found with either a fishing rod or a basketball under his arm as he ran outside. Not much has changed as he thrives in the great outdoors or playing basketball with his kids. He’s just as much at home in a sleeping bag staring up at the endless starry night sky as he is in his own home.
Many years ago, after a bit of convincing, the love of his life agreed to marry him. To this day he will tell you that his greatest accomplishment in life is that his wife is continuing to put up with him after 20 years of marriage. She has been his greatest support and motivator throughout all his schooling and beyond. Together they’ve raised two sons, and in 2016 they welcomed their adopted little girl into the family from China. Together they all love a good road trip to visit and explore the world around them.
